One of the things that, I think, makes an actor truly special is when he/she is willing to improvise on set. Whether it’s merely just a physical action that’s needed or even if they’re just told to talk to themselves into a mirror. It’s not easy and I’m sure there are a number of a times where it just doesn’t work, but every now and again an actor takes a risk and improvises some fantastic dialogue or reacts perfectly to a situation that will be remembered for many years to come.
Recently I came across a video over at SlashFilm that showcases, as you can see from the title, the greatest unscripted/improvised scenes in films. It’s fantastic to find out that some of the iconic scenes that we all know have been improvised in some way.
Anyway check out the video below and let me know what you think.
Now if you’ve not seen the first trailer for ‘Battleship’ yet then check it out here, but just so you know I thought it looked ridiculous. Anyway news that I’m sure you’ll be glad to hear is that the singer, Rihanna (yes you heard me correctly) will be starring in the film and a first look photo has been released of her holding a pretty hefty looking gun.
Yet another singer, who feels like they can act just because they’re famous for their voices. We saw Ne-Yo attempt this in ‘Battle: Los Angeles’ and now we’ve got Rihanna in this. Who’s next? Let me know in the comments and check out the full image below.
20th Century Fox have released a new red band trailer for Jonah Hill’s next flick ‘The Sitter’ (as in babysitter). It’s directed by David Gordon Green (Your Highness, Pineapple Express) and has been described as “Superbad meets Adventures in Babysitting” and I suppose that makes sense. Whatever way you want to describe it, I think it looks great fun especially Hill’s chemistry with the kids.
When the world’s most irresponsible babysitter takes three of the world’s worst kids on an unforgettable overnight adventure through the streets of New York City, it’s anyone’s guess who’s going to make it home in one piece. THE SITTER is a new level of twisted and debauched hilarity from the director of Pineapple Express, starring Superbad’s Jonah Hill.
A very skinny Jonah Hill introduces the trailer and sets the tone with a pleasant bunch of sweary kids. I just can’t get over how much weight he’s lost. Very odd to see.
Anyway, would you trust Jonah Hill to babysit your kids? check out the trailer below courtesy of IGN.
The first image has be released for Zack Snyder’s upcoming reboot of the Superman franchise called ‘Man of Steel’ and it’s … interesting. It shows Henry Cavill as the man from krypton where he seems to have not learned yet how to open a door without causing destruction.
Now the film also has some other names behind the camera that will ensure this won’t be another rubbish remake/reboot. As producers there’s Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Deborah Snyder. Nolan also wrote the story with David S. Goyer, who’s handling the screenplay that’s based upon Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster.
Joining Cavill in the cast there’s Amy Adams (The Fighter) as Daily Planet journalist Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix) as her editor-in-chief, Perry White. Also as Clark Kent’s adoptive parents, Martha and Jonathan Kent, there’s Diane Lane (Unfaithful) and Kevin Costner (Dances with Wolves).

A new trailer has hit the web for the upcoming ‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’ and it’s even better than the last one. We get a bit more about the story as well as more from the awesome british cast. It’s directed by Tomas Alfredson (Let the Right One In) and it’s due to hit UK cinemas on 16th September. So it’s just around the corner. I’m excited.
Set in the 1970s, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy finds George Smiley, a recently retired MI6 agent, doing his best to adjust to a life outside the secret service. However, when a disgraced agent reappears with information concerning a mole at the heart of the Circus, Smiley is drawn back into the murky field of espionage.
Tasked with investigating which of his trusted former colleagues has chosen to betray him and their country, Smiley narrows his search to four suspects—all experienced, urbane, successful agents—but past histories, rivalries and friendships make it far from easy to pinpoint the man who is eating away at the heart of the British establishment.
Check out the new trailer below and let me know what you think.
